Welsh Lib. Dem. Group Leader On Powys Council To Step Down

Cllr Morris with Welsh Liberal Democrat Leader Kirsty Williams in Crickhowell The Welsh Liberal Democrat Group Leader on Powys County Council, Cllr. John Morris, has decided to step down as leader, for business and personal reasons. A new leader will now be elected by group members and Cllr. Morris will continue in the leader's role until his successor is in post.

Cllr. Morris and his wife have recently expanded their farming business in to the production of bottled apple juices. Increasing demands on his time have made it difficult for him to combine the role of council group leader with the management of an expanding enterprise. He has pledged his full support to whoever the group elects as his successor and has stressed his continued full commitment to representing the people of Crickhowell on Powys County Council.
