Kirsty Williams AM for Brecon and Radnorshire has welcomed the awarding of £91,126.00, under the Community Facilities and Activities Programme (CFAP), to Hundred House Hall Management Committee in Radnorshire, Powys.
Kirsty Williams said: "I am delighted that the hard work of the community and the management committee has paid off and I am pleased to have been able to support the funding application.
"Village halls are an important focal point for any community, and this is particularly so for the small community of Hundred House. The hall is already used regularly for social and cultural events from the weekly youth club to the post office counter service. The CFAP grant will allow the kitchen to be refurbished and for greater disabled access, which will in turn mean that the hall can offer even more to the community; including a luncheon club and cookery classes.
"This funding is a massive boost to Hundred House and to preserving the sense of community in the area. Congratulations to all those who have worked hard to achieve this."
Notes:
A total of 104 eligible applications were received when the bidding round closed in April 2009 for the Community Facilities and Activities Programme (CFAP) and a total of 48 projects from across Wales were awarded grants.
