Today Cllr Leslie Davies, Leader of the Lib Dem Group and Deputy Leader of Powys County Council, has made a call for full investigation into the release of a confidential internal document on Secondary Schools Modernisation to the media.
Cllr Davies said, "I am so angry that this has happened. The upset this has caused to schools, pupils and parents is quite unacceptable. The breakdown of trust between the Council, its schools and its residents through this leak will have to be repaired as soon as possible if we are to move forward with what is best for our children and their education. I have met today with Jeremy Patterson, Chief Executive to demand that an inquiry is held as soon as possible into this whole debacle."
Cllr Davies added, "I want to reassure every parent that no decisions have been made. Also that nothing in Secondary Education will change until there has been a full consultation process to establish the preferred way forward."
