William with Kirsty Williams AM in Talgarth

Cllr William Powell lives with his family on their organic farm near Talgarth and has been the County Councillor for the Talgarth for many years.

William is also a member of the Brecon Beacons National Park and has been leading the campaign for direct elections to the National Park Authorities.

William Powell studied Modern Languages-French and German-at Pembroke College, Oxford, graduating in 1986. A Qualified teacher, he was until recently Head of German and European Officer at Hereford 6th Form College.

William is a founding board member of Wales in Europe, and Chair of the Wales Council European Movement. He is a member of the FUW and ATL and was until recently a Youth Group Coordinator for Amnesty International.
